I chose to make this design because it would be a great way to connect the passport to a national subject that connects residents in Japan. The majority of Asia cultures are collectivist societies, where they revolve around communities. This is a way to bring people together. In addition, the cherry blossoms are a very used symbolism of peace and community in many Japanese media and literature, including TV shows, books, and anime.
